Humble Ranch Education and Therapy Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2000 by physical therapist Cheri Trousil. What began as a small team of dedicated therapists and horses serving children and adults with special needs in the Yampa Valley soon grew into a thriving program. At its peak, HRETC’s herd of 10 therapy horses supported over 60 children each season with the help of 80 passionate volunteers.

Today, Cheri continues to provide equine-assisted therapies to a wide range of clients. In recent years, HRETC has shifted its focus from serving those with special needs to working with a variety of clients through workshops and retreats. These programs focus on grief support, leadership development, and Equine-Assisted Coaching/Learning. Each experience offers participants a unique opportunity to connect with the herd and explore the profound healing power of these wise equine teachers.
